What are the reasons for the wear of the double rollers of the extrusion granulator?

The roller skin is an easy-to-wear part in the granulation operation of the roller granulator. The roller skin plays the main role in material granulation. The roller skin gradually wears and produces uneven particles, but its wear is inevitable. Reasons for roller skin wear of double-roller extrusion granulator:

 

1. Affected by the hardness, size and shape of the processed materials. Materials that are hard, too large or too irregular can easily cause uneven wear of the roller skin.

2. It is directly related to the material of the roller skin itself. The roller skin material is poor, has poor wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and has a short service life.

3. Surface shape, size and usage conditions of the roller.

4. Uneven feeding can easily cause uneven wear of the roller skin.

Roller surface wear will affect the production efficiency of the double-roller granulator and the particle size of the finished material. In severe cases, the machine may need to be shut down to replace the new roller surface. How can we reduce the wear and tear of the roller surface by the material during the use of the equipment?

 

During the material granulation process, the surface of the drum will gradually wear, so it is necessary to ensure that the material is evenly fed into the granulator along the length of the drum. If the feeding is uneven, annular grooves will appear on the roller surface, which will affect the normal operation of the granulator and result in uneven product particle size. When feeding, the feeder must not only feed materials evenly and continuously, but also pay attention to the length of the roller.

 

Roller granulators are sometimes equipped with grinding wheels on the frame. When pits or grooves appear on the roller surface, the roller surface can be repaired on the machine without removing the roller surface, or the repair can be performed directly on the roller surface. This requires the granulator to install a surfacing device. Some roller granulators are equipped with an automatic axial reciprocating device for the rollers to make the roller surface wear evenly.

 

In addition, the wear of the roller surface will also increase the discharge opening, so the driving roller needs to be adjusted. When adjusting, keep the two rollers parallel to prevent skew. When the movable roller is installed on the rocker arm or equipped with a hydraulic compensation device, the axes of the two rollers will automatically become parallel when the movable roller moves.
